About the Role

This is a mixed tax role for the Veterinary/Pharmacy teams, managing a portfolio of business and personal tax clients, ensuring excellent client service, and the consistent meeting of deadlines. The individual will also support Managers and Partners on tax advisory projects and transactions. The team has 30 years of experience in the veterinary sector and an understanding of every type of practice.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Review personal, partnership, and corporate tax returns, including liaising with specialists on technical matters.
  • Prepare detailed capital allowances analysis of major property projects.
  • Be involved with remuneration planning.
  • Prepare capital gains tax computations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and provide an exceptional level of client service.
  • Research and understand technical matters and present them in a comprehensible and practical way.
  • Be involved with the administrative aspects of the tax return compliance process.
  • Assist with tax advisory projects, including the drafting of reports and letters.
  • Liaise with HMRC on matters as required on a timely and efficient basis.
  • Liaise with colleagues in the tax, accounting, and financial planning disciplines to provide a coordinated service to clients.

 

About You

The ideal candidate should have an understanding of UK tax compliance requirements in the personal and corporate tax return preparation process together with a desire to expand their technical knowledge and advisory skills.

 

Position Prerequisites

  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant.
  • Experience in UK personal and corporate tax.
  • Critical attention to detail.
  • Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral.
  • Enthusiastic and flexible attitude to work.
  • Client-driven and commercially aware.

 

Nice to Have

  • Corporate and personal tax experience is a MUST.
  • CPA, ACA/ACCA, ATT, and/or equivalently qualified. CTA desirable.
  • Knowledge of payroll taxes, Stamp Duty Land Tax, and personal taxation are desirable.
